Is it so difficult to let go of someone's past?
Problems, problems, problems! My dad thought that he would just bring the whole family out together for dinner last nite at East Coast for seafood, but no... that woman can't even sit down and have a simple dinner together with us.
Everything started out alright in the evening, but things got worse when we sat down at the table and started ordering dishes. Her face was totally black! I've never seen a person with such bad manners in my entire life. And she's a blardy adult! Even her son has better manners than her. She refused to eat at all throughout the meal saying that she does not like to eat outside food. Later on i found out it was becos she felt that my dad was treating her son unfairly... she felt that he treated me and my bro (who are his real flesh and blood) better than her son. Wat nonsense is she spouting? Sometimes i feel that my dad treats her son better than he treats his own children. He puts in so much effort to teach him english (as he's from China), buys stuff for him, plays computer games with him.. IS this called treating him unfairly? Not from my point of view... i seriously duno wat's going on in her head.
Anyway, went back home and she started packing her clothes, which obviously meant that she wanted to go back home to China. All this happened within a few hours.. how did things get so out of hand within a few hours? They quarreled again, with her raising her voice and screaming and shouting all the way. Why can't she talk properly? Does she have to scream and shout? All our neighbours could hear and i was afraid they would call the police. I couldn't take it in the end so i called Bran, and he agreed to come down and accompany me. I met him downstairs and we were talking till my Dad came down to look for me. So i sat down with my Dad and had a good long talk and Bran left.
The reason why she is like that is cos, she cannot let go of my Dad's past. His past with other women keeps coming back to haunt her. But all those things happened before her.. before he got married to her. So why can't she accept it? After marrying her, he has remained faithful to her.. wat more does she want? If she cannot accept his past..why come here? why choose to give up everything in China and come here to be with him? Now she says she cannot live with it any longer and because of this they have been quarreling on and off for the past year. Even though they can settle this problem today, it will still come back in the future, becos this is her character. She can never change it.
I want my dad to be happy and to have a companion when he grows old. someone who can grow old together with him and live happily. Is that so difficult? I have to admit that he made a very bad choice but wat can i do? I can only respect his decision as he is a happier man when he is with her. Although they quarrel and fight, but they also had their happy moments together. Anyway, i do not know wat this woman wants to do now... she says she wants to go back to China tonite but i feel that she will not do it. I hope she proves me wrong.....
